The latest release for the Call of Duty franchise is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and it’s hard to say unless you live under a rock that you have not heard of this game. It has been the highest selling and fastest selling video game ever made. Selling over 8 million copies in the first two weeks and since its release billions of games have been played online in one of the most addictive multiplayer game modes ever created. If you get the chance you have to play this game online on the Xbox 360. Players have been using xbox mod controllers to get the competitive edge by using rapid fire features but they have since dropped off in their numbers after the number of maps left the game time runs short. Infinity Ward announced new maps would be release on March 30 on the Xbox 360 so players across the globe picked up their xbox mod controllers once again and began preparing to do battle. With the release of the new map pack called the stimulus pack came information about the new maps. It would have 5 new maps called storm, salvage, bailout including two maps from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare called overgrown and crash. These maps were fan favourites of the original and will be a welcomed edition to the game. It will be interesting to see how these new maps size up against the old ones and how the old maps will appear in this new game. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has 15 killstreaks as opposed to the original that had 3, so it will interesting to see how they perform on the old maps from Call of Duty 4 and if they will still be just as fun as we all remember. The new maps will be available on the 30th of March and for the five days following this date you will be able to get double xp whilst playing online. This is highly welcomed by players online and they know it will revitalize the battles online and the numbers will increase once again. Sadly the new map pack will not be available on the Playstation 3 immediately, a rule that Microsoft purchased means that new additions like map packs are now timed exclusives for the Xbox 360 first and must be for at least one full calendar month. This has many playstation fans worried that they might not get to play the maps but Infinity Ward have promised these maps will make it to Playstation eventually.

The new maps on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are set to make players run back to their couches and pick up their xbox mod controllers once again and begin playing more hours online and they will also receive double experience points for the first five days after release as a reward for getting the maps and to promote their use.
